Open House Day 2010

For the first time, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology invited the public to an open day on September 25. Institutes, infrastructure units and partner institutions presented their work on the grounds of Campus North. Around 80 sightseeing points offered their guests a varied look behind the scenes of Germany's largest scientific institution, along with popular science lectures and an extensive supporting program. The enormous offer was taken advantage of: KIT was pleased to welcome more than 45,000 visitors.

"Discover what is behind it!"
Under the motto "Discover what's behind it," KIT presented its highlights from science and technology at Campus North: On this day, visitors could take a look behind the scenes of large research facilities. More than 80 offers to participate and discover, exhibitions and demonstrations were on the program. One third of the exhibiting institutes came from KIT Campus South; they presented their work together with colleagues from Campus North.

The open day was part of the nationwide Energy Day and Energy Day Baden-Württemberg. In addition, KIT was honored as a place in the "Land of Ideas", an initiative under the patronage of the German President.
