First-Semester Welcoming 2016

On October 21, 2016, starting at 6 p.m., the official KIT freshman welcome took place in the Black Forest Hall of the Karlsruhe Congress Center. The approximately 6,200 first-year students who will start their studies at KIT in the winter semester 2016/2017 were welcomed together with their families at the traditional festive event.

After a musical interlude by the KIT Big Band, the greeting by the Presidium, Professor Holger Hanselka, followed. City Councilor Michael Zeh and the Chairman of the General Students' Committee also addressed the first-year students. Various KIT institutions, university groups, and partners informed at stands about their offers and were available to answer questions.
