The KIT possesses industrial property rights and know-how from its own applied and basic research. To this end, KIT applies for or grants new industrial property rights in a wide range of innovative fields of technology every year.

By acquiring rights of use or licenses, your company or spin-off has the opportunity to gain a knowledge and development advantage, to save development costs, and thus to secure its competitiveness. In addition to the direct acquisition of licenses, companies or spin-offs also have the opportunity to further develop the research results in cooperation with KIT and to bind the development results to themselves. The rights of use are acquired by you via individual, customary and industry-related license models and license agreements. Here, trained license managers conduct the contract negotiations with you as a potential licensee.
